Snow White and Rose Red

Snow-White and Rose-Red are two kind and gentle sisters who live in a cottage in the forest with their mother. Snow-White is quiet and gentle, while Rose-Red is lively and outgoing, but both are good-hearted and love each other dearly.

One winter night, a bear comes to their home seeking warmth. The family welcomes him, and he becomes a regular guest. When spring comes, the bear leaves, saying he must guard his treasure from a wicked dwarf.

Later, the girls encounter this rude, ungrateful dwarf several times. Each time, they rescue him from danger (a snagged beard, a caught foot, etc.), but he never thanks them. Eventually, they see the dwarf trying to steal treasure and being attacked by the bear. The dwarf begs the bear to eat the girls instead, but the bear kills him.

The bear then transforms into a prince—the dwarf had cursed him. The curse now…
